Translation Is Where Books Begin Again
Every translated book is both a continuation and a new beginning.
Translators carry stories, voices, ideas, and literary traditions from one language into another. Their work allows books to enter new publishing markets and become part of new cultural conversations.
Lingorama is building a multilingual environment where translation, rights information, and international discovery can work together. Its purpose is to make books and translation possibilities more visible while recognizing the essential role translators play in the international life of a work.
How Lingorama Supports Translators
Discover Works Across Languages
Explore books from different linguistic and publishing traditions through a catalogue designed for multilingual discovery.
Identify Translation Possibilities
Find works for which translation rights or international publishing opportunities may be available.
Present Your Expertise
Future professional profiles may allow translators to present their languages, specializations, experience, and published work.
Connect with Publishing Professionals
Become part of a wider environment involving authors, publishers, agents, rights holders, and other translation professionals.
Make Translation Visible
Help ensure that translated editions and the translators who created them are properly identified within a work’s international history.
Support Literary Circulation
Contribute to the movement of books, ideas, and literary voices across languages, territories, and cultures.
Translators as Cultural Mediators
Literary translation involves far more than replacing words in one language with words in another.
A translator interprets voice, rhythm, context, humor, history, cultural references, and the unspoken assumptions carried by a text.
The translator stands between literary worlds and makes meaningful exchange between them possible.
Lingorama recognizes translation as a creative, intellectual, and professional activity central to the international circulation of literature.

Translation and Rights
The visibility of a work or the apparent availability of translation rights does not constitute permission to translate, publish, distribute, or commercially exploit that work.
Translators interested in a particular title should ensure that the appropriate permission or commission has been obtained from the authorized rights holder or representative before undertaking a complete translation for publication.
Lingorama may help make works and rights information more discoverable, but all translation commissions, publishing arrangements, permissions, contracts, fees, and licensing terms must be agreed upon separately by the appropriate parties.
A Professional Ecosystem, Not a Job Board
Lingorama is not currently operating as a translator employment service, literary agency, publisher, or commissioning body.
The platform is being developed as a professional discovery and rights-information environment. Participation does not guarantee translation assignments, representation, publication, licensing, payment, or any commercial relationship.
